How to Create Inspection Templates?
Create equipment-specific inspection checklists to ensure consistent quality checks across your team. For example, when setting up inspections for your drone fleet, you can create a template with specific checkpoints like “Propeller Condition,” “Battery Health,” and “Gimbal Calibration”—checks that ensure nothing gets overlooked.
Why Templates Matter
Different equipment needs different checks. Cameras need sensor cleanliness verification, vehicles need tire and fluid checks, and event furniture needs stability testing. Templates ensure every team member checks the same critical points consistently.
Creating a Template
Navigate to Settings → Inspection Templates.
Click Create New Template.
Enter a clear, descriptive name (e.g., “DSLR Camera Body,” “PA System,” “Party Tent Kit”).
Building Your Checklist
Organize with Sections Divide your template into logical groups. For cameras: “Body Condition,” “Functionality Tests,” “Included Accessories,” “Lens Elements.”
Add Checkpoints Create specific checks within each section:
Pass/Fail Checks - Simple yes/no questions: “Lens cap included?” “Battery charges properly?”
Text Input Fields - Record specific information like serial numbers, firmware versions, or odometer readings.
Photo Requirements - Make photo capture mandatory for critical visual inspections. System won’t proceed without the image.
Notes and Comments - Allow inspectors to add freeform notes explaining unusual findings or documenting minor wear.
Assigning Templates to Equipment
Navigate to the template’s Assignment tab.
Select the category or sub-category where this template applies.
All items in that category will use this checklist automatically during inspections.
Testing Your Template
Run a test inspection using the new template before rolling out to your team.
Verify all critical checks are included, questions are clear, photo requirements capture what you need, and the workflow is logical.
