Managing Templates & Clauses

Rentablez uses a modular approach to contracts. You build Clauses first, then combine them into Templates.

1. Clause Library

Navigate to Contracts → Clause Library.

Creating a Clause

  1. Click Add Clause.
  2. Title: e.g., “Payment Terms”.
  3. Content: Enter the full legal text. You can use placeholders like {{Customer_Name}} or {{Total_Amount}} which fill automatically.
  4. Category: Tag it (e.g., “Financial,” “Liability”) for easy sorting.
  5. Click Save.

2. Templates

Navigate to Contracts → Templates.

A template is a collection of clauses. When you generate a contract, you are essentially printing a copy of a template.

Creating a Template

  1. Click Create Template.
  2. Name: e.g., “Corporate Video Rental Agreement”.
  3. Add Clauses: Search and select clauses from your library.
  4. Reorder: Drag and drop clauses to determine their order in the final PDF.
  5. Save Template.

Pro Tip: Update a clause in the library, and it updates in all future contracts generated from templates using that clause. Existing signed contracts remain unchanged.
