Why Use Service & Repair?

The Service & Repair module in Rentablez keeps your equipment in working condition. Schedule a service job, track it from start to finish, record costs, and mark it complete — all while automatically blocking the asset from being booked during the service window.

How It Works

Create a service job for any asset. Rentablez generates a Job Card number automatically, blocks the asset from rentals during the service period, and tracks the job through its full lifecycle — Scheduled → In Progress → Completed. Your team uses the Start and Complete action buttons directly from the list to move jobs forward without opening a separate page.

What Needs Attention Today? — The Stats Bar

At the top of the list, five KPI cards give you an instant daily picture:

Scheduled — jobs planned for this month that haven’t started yet.

Upcoming — jobs starting in the next 7 days.

Overdue — jobs whose scheduled start date has passed without being started. These show a red Start button in the list and need immediate attention.

Completed — jobs finished this month.

Total Cost — combined cost of all service jobs for the period.

Active, All, or Completed? — Filter Tabs

Use the three tabs below the stats bar to focus the list:

Active shows only jobs that are currently Scheduled or In Progress — your working list for the day.

All shows every job regardless of status.

Completed shows only finished and cancelled jobs.

What’s in the List? — Table Columns

Each row in the service list shows:

Job Card — the auto-generated reference number (e.g., MNT-26-02-00009). Click it to open the job detail drawer.

Assets — the name of the asset being serviced.

Asset Tag — the specific stock unit’s tag number.

Type — the kind of service: Breakdown, Preventive Maintenance, or any custom type your team has created.

Scheduled — the date range the service is expected to run (start to end).

Reminder — when Rentablez will send a notification before the job starts (1 day, 3 days, 7 days, or 14 days before).

Priority — Low, Medium, or High, shown with a colored dot.

Status — the current state of the job (see statuses below).

Action — a contextual button: Start for scheduled jobs, Complete for in-progress jobs, and View for finished ones.

What’s the Status? — Job Statuses

Scheduled — the job is created and waiting to begin.

Overdue — the job’s start date has passed and it hasn’t been started. The action button turns red.

In Progress — the job has been started and the asset is under service.

QC Pending — the work is done but needs a quality check before the asset is released back to inventory.

QC Failed — the quality check didn’t pass. The asset stays under maintenance for further work.

Completed — the job is done and the asset is back in stock.

Cancelled — the job was cancelled and the asset was released immediately.

Asset Getting Blocked? — Availability Control

When you schedule a service job and tick Block equipment availability, Rentablez marks that asset as unavailable from the start date to the end date. It cannot be booked for rentals during that window. The block lifts automatically when the job is completed (or when QC passes, if a QC inspection is required).

Want to See All Past Jobs? — History

Click History in the top right to open a timeline of all completed and cancelled service jobs. Filter by date range, export to CSV, and expand any entry to see the full activity log — who created it, who started it, when it was completed, and what it cost.

Prefer a Visual View? — Calendar

Click Calendar (next to List) to switch to a monthly calendar view. Jobs appear as color-coded pills on their scheduled dates — blue for preventive maintenance, red for breakdowns, green for completed jobs. Click any pill to open the job detail drawer.

You’re All Set!

Service & Repair in Rentablez gives you full visibility and control over every maintenance job in your fleet — no more guessing which assets are available or what repairs have cost you. To get started, schedule a new service job or open an existing one to move it through to completion.
