How Do Invoices Work?
Rentablez handles all your billing in one place — invoices generated automatically from rental orders, and standalone invoices for anything outside the usual rental flow. Both types support partial payments, tax profiles, discounts, and digital sharing.
How It Works
Most invoices in Rentablez are created directly from rental orders — the system pulls the equipment list, rental dates, and pricing automatically. For anything that doesn’t fit into an order — a service fee, a damage charge, a one-off sale — you create a standalone invoice from scratch.
Billing from a Rental? — Order Invoices
Order Invoices are generated from confirmed rental orders. Rentablez fills in the line items, rental period, pricing, taxes, and discounts directly from the order. You don’t need to re-enter anything.
Use these for daily or weekly rentals, recurring billing, and project-linked orders. See How to Manage Billing and Payments? to learn how order invoices work end to end.
Charging Outside an Order? — Standalone Invoices
Standalone Invoices are created from scratch for billing that isn’t tied to a rental order. Use them for consulting fees, delivery charges, damage charges, selling used gear, or any ad-hoc billing your business needs.
See How to Use Standalone Invoices? for step-by-step instructions.
Paying in Parts? — Partial Payments
Rentablez lets you record multiple payments against a single invoice. The invoice stays in Partially Paid status until the full balance is cleared, then automatically moves to Paid. See How to Record Payments?.
Want Your Own Look? — Custom Branding
Apply your logo, color scheme, and terms to every invoice through your invoice template settings. See How to Customize Invoice Design?.
You’re All Set!
Rentablez keeps all your billing in one place — rental orders generate invoices automatically, and standalone invoices cover everything else. See How to Record Payments? to mark invoices as paid, or explore Payment Modes to configure how your customers pay.
