Glossary of Rentablez Terms
This glossary is a great place to get familiar with Rentablez’s key features and the terminology used in the app and our Help Center.
A
Asset The rental items, services, and sales items in your Rentablez account. These are the core items you rent or sell. See Asset Management for details.
Availability The number of items that can be rented out in any given rental period. Whether an asset is available depends on the total inventory count and the number of confirmed orders. See Check Availability.
B
Barcode Barcodes are used to quickly add assets to a rental order and prevent human error when check-out or check-in rental items. See Managing Regular Assets for QR code generation.
Buffer Time Time applied to an asset to make it temporarily unavailable before or after rental orders. Used for maintenance, cleaning, or transit.
Bulk Asset A tracking method for assets where you don’t distinguish individual stock items (e.g., cutlery, cables). You track “how many” you have, not “which specific one.” See Managing Bulk Assets.

Category Method to organize your assets. Categories are used to group products for better management and reporting. See How to Categorize Your Products?.
Checkout The page in your webstore where customers complete and pay for their rental orders.
Customer A person or company to whom you rent out your assets. See Managing Customers.

Dashboard Your business’s control center, giving you an immediate snapshot of your daily operations, including today’s pickups, returns, and revenue metrics. See Dashboard Guide.
Documents Customer-facing files like quotes, invoices, and delivery notes. These are generated from the contents of an order. See Order Documents.

Enquiry A request from a potential customer for a quote or information about asset availability. See Why Enquiries Matter?.
Expected Stock Stock in your inventory that will become available after a specific date (e.g., incoming purchase orders).
I
Identifier Unique codes (like serial numbers or asset tags) used to tell individual trackable assets apart.
Inventory The total stock you have for an asset. Can be tracked individually or in bulk.
Invoice A document listing order details and the sum due. Invoices are populated automatically based on an order’s contents. See Billing & Payments.

Kit A bundle of assets rented together as a single package (e.g., a “Camera Kit” containing a body, lens, and battery). See How to Create a Kit?.

Location A physical place (like a store or warehouse) where inventory is stored and where customers pick up and return orders. See How to Manage Locations?.
O
Order A confirmed reservation of assets. An order reduces the available inventory for the booked dates. See Order Management.
Overdue Orders that have not been returned by their scheduled return time.
P
Packing Slip A document listing all items that need to be prepared for an order.
Payment Mode Defines how you accept money (Cash, Credit Card, Bank Transfer, UPI, etc.). See How to Set Up Payment Modes?.
Proposal / Quote A document giving the estimated cost for a particular rental order, sent to the customer for approval before booking.
R
Regular Asset An asset where you track individual stock items (e.g., specific cameras with serial numbers), as opposed to bulk assets. See Managing Regular Assets.
Rental Period The duration between the scheduled pickup time and return time for an order.
Reports Analytics tools to see how your business is performing. See Reports & Analytics for asset utilization, revenue analysis, and customer behavior reports.
Return The process of receiving rented items back from a customer and checking them back into inventory. See Returns Management.

Security Deposit An amount of money held to ensure items are returned in good condition. Can be refunded after successful return. See How to Configure Security Deposits?.
SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) Unique codes to help you organize, find, and identify your product lines.
Stock Items The individual physical units of a Regular Asset. Each stock item has its own unique identifier.
T
Tags Keywords used to organize and identify assets, customers, or orders (e.g., “VIP,” “Repair needed”). See How to Manage Tags?.
Tax Profile Configuration for applying tax rates (like GST or VAT) to products and orders. See How to Set Up Tax Profiles?.
U
Unit of Measurement (UOM) Standard units used for your assets (e.g., “Each,” “Set,” “Kg,” “Meter”). See How to Set Up Units of Measurement?.
V
Variant Different versions of the same asset, such as different sizes or colors (e.g., “T-Shirt - Large - Red”). See How to Create Variant Options?.

Webstore Your online rental shop where customers can view your catalog and place inquiries or orders. See Webstore Configuration.
